Falesco Vitiano Rosso Red Wine, 750mL Wine Bottle

The Vitiano Rosso represents an innovative Italian red blend comprising of the varieties commonly found along the Tuscan hillsides: Sangiovese, Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot is typically harvested first, towards the beginning of September, followed by Cabernet & Sangiovese during the second half of the month. The three varietals are vinified separately and after crushing and destemming, grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks between 25-28°C, where skin contact is promoted through frequent pump-overs. As fermentation reaches it final stages, the frequency of pumping overs is reduced & the final blend takes place once fermentation has finished. Finished wine is then transferred to medium-toast, two-year-old barrels for malolactic fermentation and a total aging time of three months. The wine is lightly fined before bottling, resulting in an incredibly versatile wine, where the three varieties completely compliment one another: The Merlot promotes softness and mid palate weight, Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure and the Sangiovese with its acidity gives more freshness to the blend. Bright, deep ruby red in color with intense aromas of black cherry, hints of tobacco and leather. A medium-bodied wine with tannins that are ripe and firm, and balanced by crisp acidity that culminates in a persistent and pleasant finish. The Vitiano Red pairs well with a wide array of domestic and international cuisine. The vintage 2020 received 92 points from James Suckling. One 750mL wine bottle of Falesco Vitiano Rosso Red Wine contains 14% alcohol by volume.
