Hojicha is made by roasting Bancha leaves at a high temperature until they turn reddish-brown and take on a strong aromatic fragrance and roasted flavor. Why use green tea? It is well known that tea in all of its forms, black, green, roasted and white, has significant antioxidant action. Aging, stress and inhaling polluted air can cause an imbalance of free radicals vs. antioxidant substances, both produced naturally in the body.
