Yalumba Shiraz Viognier

Regional character, varietal flavour and individual personality are the hallmarks of this fine handcrafted wine from Yalumba. For more than 150 years Yalumba has been a vital part of the Barossa, making wines that best reflect the region. This wine is no exception. Made from Barossa Shiraz grown on 30-50 year old vines with an added splash (5%) of Viognier - a rare and exotic grape variety that concentrates the colour and adds a sweet floral fragrance to the Shiraz. The palate is mouth filling with licorice, dark cherry and plum fruit flavours balanced by long, smooth tannins. A Barossa stalwart with an alluring twist. Region: Barossa, South Australia. Harvested: March and April 2000. Time in Oak: 18 months. Recommended cellaring: 2002 - 2006.
