In our search for vineyards planted to the grape varieties traditionally associated with the Rhone Valley of France, we discovered several old stands of vines scattered throughout California. With an eye towards making a wine in this fashion at Neyers, we purchased grapes from those vineyards we thought most likely to produce wines of complexity, style and character. We named this wine Sage Canyon Red. The Neyers Sage Canyon Red is a blend of Carignan, Mourvedre, and Grenache.
